Man accused of killing ex-girlfriend abandons bail application

JOHANNESBURG - The 26-year-old man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend and confessing on social media has abandoned his bail application.
Lazarus Antonio appeared briefly before the Temba Magistrates Court in Hammanskraal on Friday.
He faces charges of murder of 20-year-old Kgaogelo Marota and the attempted murder of his current girlfriend.
The two incidents occurred on the same night.
The community of Hammanskraal came out in numbers yet again, expressing their anger about the gruesome act that took place last week.
Marota was allegedly stabbed to death outside a tavern in Magubane, in North West, by the accused.
Police said soon after the stabbing her, he filmed the crime scene and filmed his confession.
He then went to stab his current girlfriend who is now hospitalised.
