JOHANNESBURG - Joburg Water has assured residents they need not worry about a possible day zero in the city as dams are almost full.
During a media briefing on Friday, the utility updated the media on the state of water supply and its intervention plans for infrastructure systems.
Joburg Water announced that some areas would still experience throttling to manage high demand.
Director Ntshavheni Mukwevho said residents needed to reduce water usage.
"So we have enough water, the water that comes into the system, purified and coming to the system. But, of course, the demand for that water, potable water, is much higher than what the system can produce. And it's at a level that's not sustainable in the long term," said Mukwevho.
