Road closures in Cape Town for Gun Run weekend: 13-14 September

The 31st OUTsurance Gun Run is taking place this weekend on 13 and 14 September 2025. The City would like to advise residents and motorists of road closures and their impact on traffic.
More than 18,000 athletes, combined for the trail run, 10km race, 5km fun runs and the Half Marathon, are expected to take part in the Gun Run.
The shorter distance races will set off from Fritz Sonnenberg Road outside DHL Stadium on Saturday, 13 September, taking runners on a journey along the Atlantic coastline in Mouille Point and Sea Point before finishing at Green Point Common Fields.
Taking place on the same day, the 17km trail run will set off from Van Riebeeck Park in Oranjezicht, going into Deer Park, hitting the trails on the slopes of Table Mountain, through Signal Hill for breathtaking views of the city bowl and finishing at the Green Point Common Fields.
On Sunday, 14 September, the Half Marathon is a 21,1km race through Green Point, De Waterkant, Sea Point, Camps Bay and Clifton.
Road closures
There willbe an impact on traffic on roads in Green Point, Mouille Point and Sea Point on Saturday. On Sunday, there will be significant road closures and a temporary impact in Green Point, De Waterkant, Sea Point, Camps Bay and Clifton between 05:00 and 11:00.
Roads that will be impacted include Alfred Street (Green Point), Beach Road (Sea Point), Clarens Road (Sea Point), Kloof Road and Victoria Road (Camps Bay).
