CAPE TOWN - The Department of Water and Sanitation reports steady progress is being made with the expansion of the Clanwilliam Dam.
Earlier this week, Water and Sanitation Minister Pemmy Majodina visited the site to get an update on the R6 billion project.
The dam wall is being raised by 13 meters and will increase its capacity to store and supply water in the Cederberg Municipality.
Spokesperson for the department, Wisane Mavasa, says the project is expected to be completed in 2029 and is also creating jobs.
"Minister Majodina is satisfied with the progress made thus far. The dam is currently being replenished and is expected to reach 95% full capacity by the 1st of October 2025, with the current supply levels at 90%."
