JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has lamented the poor calibre of political leaders deployed by parties to govern municipalities.
The president was in the North West on Friday, where at least ten municipalities are either under administration or facing serious financial difficulties.
Currently, all municipalities in the North West are either governed outrightly by the African National Congress (ANC) or through ANC-led coalitions.
Ramaphosa, who’s also the ANC president, said that ahead of the upcoming local government elections, parties must choose competent people as their candidates.
