The ad hoc committee probing police corruption allegations will resume its hearings on Tuesday morning with the testimony Hilda Senthumule, the acting Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection.

Senthumule’s appearance before the committee comes after several delays since 2025, when she was initially scheduled to appear.

National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader and member of Parliament (MP) Fadiel Adams will also resume his evidence from last week when he faces questions from MPs about allegations that he recklessly mishandled classified information.

Senthumule, who is also the Divisional Commissioner for Detective and Forensic Services, will engage with evidence leaders and MPs to finally give her evidence.

Her testimony will focus on her knowledge of suspended Police Minister Minister Senzo Mchunu’s directive to disband the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).

Senthumule was also accused by suspended Deputy National Commissioner Sharack Sibiya of benefitting from alleged crime kingpin Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.

Evidence leader Norman Arendse said her evidence will come after Adams.

“We propose to call honourable Adams first. You will recall that that committee members still have to ask questions of him. He has been led. And then to call LT General Senthumule who scheduled previously.”

The committee will hear evidence from National Commissioner Fannie Masemola and KwaZulu-Natal top cop Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi next week Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, instead of this week as originally planned.
