South Africa’s economy has struggled to meet expectations in 2025, registering an annual growth of 1.1%.
This is below the government’s projected growth of 1.4%.
Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) said annual growth was primarily led by higher economic activity in finance, agriculture and trade.
Despite the government’s reforms aimed at unlocking economic growth, it remains elusive with investment in the economy contracting by 2.2%.
