CAPE TOWN - As part of Heritage Month, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company is hoping to make visiting the mountain more accessible for South Africans.
For the month of September, South Africans can buy discounted tickets to visit the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, and those who do head up the mountain will have the opportunity to use the newly unveiled yellow new 7Wonders of Nature frame.
The new frame gives visitors a perfect view of the city, mountain and ocean.
When looking through the frame, one can see a sea of blue, that often blends into the sky.
The frame forms part of the New 7 Wonders of Nature project, which has placed 7 frames around the Cape Town.
The frame at the summit replaces the one that had been removed from the Cape Town Station Forecourt, following precinct upgrades.
The managing director for Table Mountain Aerial Cableway company, Wahida Parker, said they hope to create opportunitiesfor all South Africans to celebrate their cultural pride.
“We want them to come, take a photograph here, tag us in their social media post and really show some love for this incredible mountain of ours.” Parker said.
The other six frames are located across Cape Town, at Signal Hill, V&A Waterfront, Eden on the Bay in Bloubergstrand, Lookout Hill in Khayelitsha, and Harrington Square at District Six.
