A seemingly minor detail during proceedings in the Western Cape High Court may have major implications for alleged underworld boss, Nafiz Modack.
A witness for the defence, police captain Alfred Barker, produced evidence that could link Modack to an attempted murder case related to slain top cop Charl Kinnear.
Modack and 14 co-accused are facing multiple charges, including attempted murder and the murder of Kinnear.

State prosecutors concluded their cross-examination of Barker on Thursday, after obtaining four cellphone numbers, allegedly used by Modack.
Barker told the court Modack used the numbers to contact him in 2018 while investigating Modack's claims of police corruption.
During proceedings, presiding Judge Robert Henney noted one of the numbers came up in previous evidence related to a failed attack on Kinnear allegedly involving co-accused Yannick Adonis.
"Where the address of Colonel Kinnear was sent to Yannick Adonis."
Modack has denied sending Kinnear’s address to Adonis or playing any role in the attack.
