JOHANNESBURG - A housekeeper at the Phala Phala farm has told the court she doesn’t know whether one of the accused had access to the room where the money was kept.
Wednesday marks the second day of the trial looking into the burglary and theft of $580,000 in cash from President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm.
Imanuwela David along with siblings Froliana and Ndilinasho Joseph are currently on trial at the Modimolle Regional Court in Limpopo
The housekeeper, who cannot be named, said she has worked at the Phala Phala game farm for about a decade.
She said the policy at the farm is that temporary cleaners cannot access the main room.
The main room is where the stolen United States (US) dollars where hidden.
Accused number two, Froliana, was employed as a temporary cleaner at the farm.
This is what the housekeeper said when asked if Froliana ever cleaned the main room.
“I know her very well but when I am at the farm to go clean up at the main house, I do not go with them (temporary cleaners) but I don’t know when I am not at the farm what happens.”
The housekeeper has wrapped up her testimony with the State ready to introduce their third witness.
