Gauteng police launch manhunt following killing of taxi association chairperson

Gauteng police have launched a manhunt after a Gauteng National Taxi Alliance chairperson was shot dead in Soweto on Thursday morning.
58-year-old Thamsanqa Moyo was gunned down while traveling along the Soweto highway.
A case of murder has been opened.
Police said the motive for the incident is unknown at this stage, but have not ruled out taxi industry-related violence.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo is urging anyone with information to come forward.
"Police are appealing to anyone who might have information that can help in the investigation or assist in the apprehension of the suspects to please call the nearest police station or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be given anonymously via MySAPS App that can be downloaded from any smartphone."
