The alleged mastermind behind the Lusikisiki massacre, Mzukisi Ndamase, has now accused the key State witness in the murder trial, Lwando Abi, of murdering an alleged drug dealer in KwaBhaca.

Ndamase is legally representing himself in court and cross-examined the witness on Wednesday at the Mthatha High Court sitting in Lusikisiki.

He’s implicated the witness in the August 2024 shooting, where Mncedisi Gijana an alleged drug dealer was murdered.

There have been twists and turns in the Lusikisiki mass murder case, particularly on the murder of Gijana.

Gijana allegedly sold drugs in the area but was killed weeks before the Lusikisiki massacre.

Police have since charged Ndamase for Gijana’ murder.

But during cross-examination on Wednesday, Ndamase told the court he will argue that state witness Lwando Abi planned and executed the murder for a drug turf.

Meanwhile Abi testified that Ndamase was the one who ordered the hit on Gijana to make way for him to sell drugs in the KwaBhaca area.

But Ndamase said the witness was sent by a Western Cape 28 gang to sell drugs in parts of the Eastern Cape to expand their territory.

The matter returns to court on Thursday.
