6 suspects linked to extortion syndicate operating in CT expected to appear in court

Six suspects linked to an extortion syndicate operating in Mfuleni and Delft in Cape Town are expected to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates court on Friday.
The group was arrested on Thursday in possession of an assortment of firearms, ammunition and drugs.
They're accused of extorting money from the community for protection.
The police's FC Van Wyk said five of the suspects are also wanted for a double murder in Stellenbosch.
"Firearms and ammunition confiscated consist of a AK47 with 28 rounds, one R1 round, a 9mm Makarov pistol with 61 rounds, one Berretta Z88 pistol with 15 rounds, one Norinco Star with five rounds, one 9mm pistol with 23 rounds, as well as 400 mandrax tablets."
