JOHANNESBURG - Doctors Without Borders is renewing its call for a ceasefire in Gaza after losing yet another staff member in the ongoing conflict.
Hussein Alnajjar, a nurse with the organisation, died on Tuesday after being critically injured in an Israeli airstrike.
He is the 13th colleague from the organisation killed since the war began.
The conflict, which erupted in 2023 between Hamas and Israel, has left thousands of Palestinians dead and many more cut off from humanitarian aid.
Doctors without borders’ coordinator in Gaza, Jacob Granger, said that healthcare workers are operating under increasingly dangerous conditions.
"MSF is trying to respond to the needs at its best capacity, which is very limited, so we are seeing an increase of needs because of the lack of access for humanitarian access in the Gaza city.
