Expelled Democratic Alliance (DA) member of Parliament, Renaldo Gouws, has joined the Freedom Front Plus.

In a media statement released on Tuesday afternoon, FF Plus leader Corne Mulder said the party looks forward to working with him.

Gouws was expelled from the DA last year after an old video of him surfaced where he repeatedly used the derogatory K-word, referring to black people.

The Freedom Front Plus said Gouws brings to the party a wealth of political experience and a genuine passion for community values.

The party said it shared similar values with Gouws, including freedom, self-determination, and the safeguarding of minority rights.

The party is also impressed with Gouws’ social media presence, saying that close to 400,000 people follow him across several platforms.

In a statement posted on X, Gouws said it was not an easy decision to step back into the political arena, however, he was looking forward to continuing for a united, prosperous South Africa.
