Crime Intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo has alleged that North West businessman Brown Mogotsi has been involved in funding the Police Minister and the ANC.
Khumalo concluded his testimony this afternoon before the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria.
At the tail-end of his testimony, Khumalo named five individuals who were in communication with alleged underworld figure and tender tycoon Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
He also provided WhatsApp exchanges between those individuals and Matlala as part of his evidence.
One of the key people Matlala is alleged to have communicated with is Brown Mogotsi.
Mogotsi has featured prominently in testimony before the Madlanga Commission, where he has been accused of meddling in high-profile police investigations.
Khumalo further claimed that Mogotsi is linked to ANC funding:
“He appears to have been involved in funding activities for the Minister of Police within the ANC.”
Khumalo added that he has proof of more prominent figures linked to Matlala through WhatsApp messages but said he would only provide that evidence during in-camera proceedings.
