The South African Weather Service says thunderstorms are expected to continue across Gauteng today.

Isolated to scattered showers & thundershowers are expected over the central & eastern parts of the country, but widespread over Gauteng, Mpumalanga & KwaZulu-Natal with possible severe thunderstorms. #saws pic.twitter.com/3wM9jF5coZ
The forecast reports persistent rain but afternoon thundershowers.
This may result in reduced visibility and localised flooding.
The weather service encourages all motorists to remain alert and cautious on the road.
“With one-and-off rain reducing visibility over the eastern parts of the country, including Gauteng, please drive with extra caution and keep a safe following distance.”
