Western Cape Premier Alan Winde said his visits to various states in the United States recently yielded positive results.
Winde said that despite recent challenges between South Africa and the US, the Western Cape has maintained longstanding relationships with certain American states.
A delegation from the Western Cape government and Wesgro joined Winde on the recent trip.
Premier Alan Winde said the Western Cape had strong agricultural, tourism and foreign direct investment links with the US.
Winde was in the US in August to hold high level engagements with government and private sector stakeholders in Washington D.C., Atlanta and New York City.
"We also took the opportunity to visit Georgia. We have a long-standing arrangement with the state of Georgia since 2014 onwards as a collaboration, how we work together in various sectors of our economy."
Winde said the province's relationship with the US had garnered more than R15.5 billion in trade and more than R33 billion in foreign direct investment in the last ten years.
