Justice and Constitutional Development Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi, said that State Capture Commission-related court cases are making progress, with billions already recovered.
Kubayi said that these include high-profile matters such as the Transnet transaction advisory contract, Bosasa-related prosecutions, and Eskom-linked cases where billions were siphoned off and paid out irregularly.
Kubayi was responding to a written parliamentary question on the number of government officials and politicians who have been charged for state capture-related crimes.

Kubayi said that the Investigating Directorate against Corruption (IDAC) continues to pursue priority state capture and corruption-related cases in line with the recommendations of the commission.
She said that currently, 11 cases involving 23 government officials and one politician are before various courts across the country.
These include high-profile cases involving the country’s biggest state-owned entities like Transnet and Denel.
Kubayi told Parliament that most of these cases have been set down for trial dates this year and in 2026, “with significant progress recorded in securing restraint orders through the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU), including an order worth over R1.08 billion in the Tansnet matter”.
She said that the Transnet locomotives case involving MK Party MPs and former CEO's Brian Molefe and Siyabonga Gama is also making progress and has been referred to the AFU.
Kubayi said that, happening parallel to the enrolled cases, the IDAC is also conducting investigations into nine major matters involving 20 government officials and four politicians.
She said that these cover allegations relating to Eskom contracts, State Security Agency (SSA) and crime intelligence funds, the Estina Vrede Dairy Project, NPA internal corruptionmatters, and further Bosasa-related investigations.
