ActionSA axes 22 councillors for underperformance

ActionSA has fired 22 of its councillors across all Gauteng metros for underperformance. 

The party has shown the door to 18 public representatives in the Johannesburg municipality, two in Tshwane and another two in Ekurhuleni. 

This comes as the party ramps up its campaign going into the local government elections. 

Speaking at an event in Tembisa on Saturday, ActionSA president, Herman Mashaba said the party has no space within its ranks for underperforming councillors. 

“I am sure if you guys (media) go to your libraries you will see herman mashaba, personally, at the beginning of this year, going from all the caucuses, regions and provinces – making sure that people understand that we going to put them on kpi’s (key perfomance index) and those who do not meet a certain bar, unfortunately we have to remove them and bring in those who are able, capable to serve society.” Mashaba said.
