More than one million motorists are in a race against time as their vehicle license discs are set to expire at the end of October.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is calling on vehicle owners to ensure their cars are roadworthy ahead of the busy travel period and to utilise their convenient online renewal platform.
October is recognised as National Transport Month, with the RTMC focusing this year on raising awareness about transport's vital role in the national economy.
The approaching festive season typically brings a sharp increase in road accidents and reckless driving.
To help mitigate risks and ease the renewal process, the organisation is encouraging vehicle owners to use the Natis online platform for renewing their license discs.

RTMC spokesperson, Simon Zwane, said the online service has successfully processed five million vehicle license renewals since its launch in 2022.
The RTMC emphasised the urgency of the deadline and the need for proactive renewal.
“With the festive season fast approaching, the RTMC is advising motorists to make arrangements to renew their vehicle license discs before it is too late. More than one million vehicle discs will be expiring in October and will be required to be renewed at the end of the month.”
