A suspected drug mule has been arrested at Cape Town International Airport.
Acting on intelligence, authorities intercepted a 35-year-old man as he arrived from Doha on Wednesday.
The man was carrying about five kilograms [5.1 kg] of a substance suspected to be cocaine in his check-in luggage, worth more than two million rand [R2.2 million].
Further surveillance was conducted, and the contact person or courier, collecting the drug mule, was also identified and arrested.
The suspects are expected to make their first appearance at Bellville Magistrate's Court on Friday.
