The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said it is disappointed by a Johannesburg High Court judgment that released alleged crime kingpin Katiso "KT" Molefe on bail.
On Friday, the High Court overturned the Alexandra Magistrates Court order denying Molefe bail.
Molefe is accused of calling hits on musicians DJ Sumbody and DJ Vintos, whose real names were Oupa Sefoka and Hector Buthelezi, respectively.

He has also featured prominently in the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry and is accused of being involved in a major drug cartel.
The NPA had opposed his appeal in the High Court, but Judge Brad Wanless ruled that Molefe’s release is in the interest of justice and that the Magistrates' Court erred in finding otherwise.
The NPA’s Phindi Mjonondwana explained: “The appellant is to report to the Morningside Police Station on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The appellant’s passport shall remain in the possession of the investigating officer and the appellant is not permitted io apply for any travel documents until the finalization of the trial.”
