The Special Official Funeral of the late Ambassador to France and Monaco, Nathi Mthethwa, is underway.
Mourners have gathered at the Siyabonga Sangweni Dondotha Stadium in KwaMbonambi, Northern KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Police officers, dressed in their ceremonial uniform, have taken over the funeral procession. They have draped the Ambassador's coffin with the South African flag.
Deputy President Paul Mashatile, who recently travelled to France, has praised Ambassador Mthethwa for dedicating himself to his job.
