SANParks has said it has made revenue of more than R4 billion this financial year for the first time in its history.

The organisation’s CEO Hapiloe Sello said the park reported an 11% increase in revenue from R3.67 billion to R4.1 billion from 2024 to 2025.

SANPark also achieved 86% of its performance targets, meeting 24 of its 28 goals.

Sello added that this milestone demonstrated their commitment to conservation, sustainable development, and community empowerment.

"Notably, we need to express the fact that 75% of that revenue is generated through tourism. We run a very strong tourism business in the 21 national parks, and it is through that tourism revenue that we are able to provide funding for our core mandate, which is conservation."
