Members of the Zulu royal family aligned with Prince Simakade say they are still considering their next move following last week’s Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) ruling.
The SCA overturned a Pretoria High Court decision that had set aside President Cyril Ramaphosa’s 2022 recognition of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini as monarch.
Speaking at a media briefing in Durban on Sunday, Prince Thokozani Zulu, on behalf of Prince Simakade, said they were consulting their legal team before deciding on a way forward.
"We’ve been in constant engagement with our lawyers; they are looking at different considerations relating to the issues of the court."
He said they would be guided by their legal team.
"Whether the matter will be taken to another level is a question of fact, but it will only depend on which approach our lawyers have advised us on because there seems to be several options."
