2 escape uninjured after light plane crashed into Ekurhuleni school tuck shop

Two people escaped uninjured after a light plane crashed into a school building in Alberton, in the City of Ekurhuleni, on Sunday.
Ekurhuleni emergency services said an instructor and a student were conducting an evaluation flight test when the plane’s engine failed. This forced them to make an emergency landing.
Spokesperson Tikki Macdonald said the pilot was aiming for the school’s rugby field but landed on the tuckshop.
“Fortunately, both the instructor and student escaped uninjured. The incident has been reported to the Civil Aviation Authorities and is currently under investigation. For life-threatening emergencies in Ekurhuleni, please contact the City of Ekurhuleni's Life-Threatening Center.”
