Banyana Banyana are deep in their preparations for the crucial Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against the DR Congo.

The national team is currently holding a training camp in Johannesburg ahead of the match set for Tuesday at Dobsonville Stadium.

The squad has been boosted by the arrival of their overseas-based contingent, including Thembi Kgatlana, Hilda Magaia, Sinoxolo Cesane, and Amogelang Motau, who joined after fulfilling their club commitments abroad.

Having secured an away goal in Kinshasa during the first leg, the focus has now shifted to finishing the job at home in the return fixture.

Coach Thinasonke Mbuli expressed her satisfaction with the group's readiness and outlined the remaining days' plan.

"We are happy now that everyone is in camp. Today is our start-up with everyone in training, and from tomorrow we’ll start focusing on our tactics. The good thing is we have three days to prepare for the match," said Mbuli.

With the full squad now assembled, two players, Regina Mogolola and Thato Mofolo, have been placed on standby. The technical team will concentrate on fine-tuning tactical details and building cohesion among the returning stars and those who featured in the first leg.

Kgatlana, one of South Africa’s most decorated players, shared her excitement to be back in national colours and her determination to help the team secure the win.

"It’s amazing, always an honour to come back and represent the country. I’m in good spirits and I’m healthy," she said.
