Police are investigating a murder and two counts of attempted murder following a shooting involving a minibus taxi in Lwandle, near Somerset West.
The incident happened at around 5pm on Monday.
A 44-year-old man was killed and two others, including a woman, were wounded.
The police's Frederick van Wyk: "Police members on duty attended to a complaint of a shooting incident at the mentioned address. Upon arrival, they found a white Toyota Quantum with the victim behind the driver's seat with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. The circumstances around this shooting incident are under investigation. The motive forms part of our investigations."
While the motive for Monday's shooting is not yet known, Western Cape Mobility MEC Isaac Sileku recently implemented a 30-day shutdown of taxi routes between Khayelitsha, Mfuleni and Somerset West following deadly violence linked to a feud between CATA and CODETA over these routes.
