Cape Town's Elsies River community livid after stray bullet hits innocent teen

Elsies River residents are frustrated and sad after a teenager was shot in the area on Tuesday.  

The 14-year-old was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet and is currently in hospital.  

This shooting comes nearly a month after another 14-year-old was shot and killed in the area.  

The chairperson of the Elsies River community policing forum, Marius Fourie, said there seems to be no end to the gun violence.

“It's very sad for the community, this child, he was actually caught in gunfire it was an innocent child, it was unprovoked, he did nothing wrong he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is really sad, especially when its children that need to live their lives, they haven’t even found the time of their lives yet.”
