Kellanova (Kellogg’s) celebrates the milestone of providing 62 million meals to school children in need.

For over 11 years, its ‘Better Days Promise’ initiative has committed to advancing sustainable and equitable access to food.

“We identified a need for children to reach their full potential; they need to go to school and have something in their stuff. You just can’t teach a hungry child,” says Kellanova's general manager and executive director, Phillip Nieman.

The company provides meals through school feeding programmes and establishes gardens to teach self-sufficiency.

“Up until today, we have provided 62 million meals to school children. We provide 35,000 meals on every school day to children in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Eastern Cape.”

He adds: “It’s about providing a place for everybody at the table and for everybody to be fed, and to be heard.”
