WATCH: Daring criminals use digger to steal ATM

Robbers in the UK have been caught on camera brazenly using a digger to steal an ATM.

Residents across the road heard the digger’s reversing beep, watched the robbers work, and phoned police as the operation unfolded.

Primedia's Digital Content Editor Barbara Friedman explained that the thieves moved with the kind of coordination that made neighbours describe the raid as "almost legitimate".

Friedman said it appears a truck may have been used to ferry the digger away, and while the thieves initially escaped, it is unclear whether arrests followed after the police arrived.

"The most least subtle cash-in-transit heist," added Friedman.
