Two wanted suspects have been shot and killed by KwaZulu-Natal police in Umlazi, south of Durban.
According to police, the men opened fire at police who were carrying out an operation to apprehend them.
When police returned fire, the two were killed in the crossfire.
KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said that the men were wanted in connection with various violent crimes committed in the Inanda area.
“Two firearms were found in possession of the suspects. The recovered firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to ascertain if they are linked to other crimes in the province.”
