The Cape of Good Hope SPCA said it was devastated by the brutal killing of three kittens in Ruyterwacht.
The animal welfare organisation received a call from residents, reporting a man attacking kittens.
It's alleged that the man was trying to sell the kittens to buy drugs, and when no one wanted them, he beat them.
Three kittens sadly lost their life in the attack.
SPCA spokesperson Belinda Abraham said that animals often become voiceless victims to human problems.
"There were four kittens in total. Three of them were, sadly, already deceased when we arrived at the scene. And then there was one little survivor, who was named Hope. And she was rescued thanks to members of the community that stepped in to save her."
