Miles for Smiles – Sir Lowry’s Pass Primary Fun Run 2025:

When: Saturday, 8 November 2025 

Where: Goedeverwachting Estate, Sir Lowry’s Pass

About the event: Get ready to move for a great cause! The Miles for Smiles 5K Fun Run, hosted by Sir Lowry’s Pass Primary School, is a family-friendly event bringing together the community for a morning of fitness, fun, and fundraising -with all proceeds supporting school sports and local youth development.

Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, every step helps build stronger, healthier learners. Expect a morning filled with laughter, colour, and community spirit -plus delicious food, coffee, and kids’ entertainment to keep everyone smiling.

World Aquathon Day:

When: Saturday, 8 November at 11 am

Where: Virgin Active Cape Gate, Cape Gate Lifestyle Centre

About the event: Get ready to make a splash as Virgin Active Cape Gate joins the global celebration of Worldwide Aquathon Day.

This is a three-hour aqua aerobics marathon, open to everyone, including non-Virgin Active members.

Four amazing instructors will lead fun, water-based workouts on a 20-minute rotation, catering to all fitness levels. And no, you don’t need to be a swimmer, but you do need a swimming cap.

ARD Athletics Club’s Fast & Scenic 3 Vlei Race:

When: Sunday, 9 November 

Where: Fairmount High School, Grassy Park

About the event: This route takes you past three of the Cape’s beautiful vleis, Zeekoevlei, Rondevlei, and Langvlei, making it perfect for both nature lovers and runners chasing a personal best.

Choose between a:

  • 5 km fun run at 6:50 AM (just R40 entry)
  • 10 km road race at 6:30 AM (R170)

Expect great vibes, a flat route, and that community spirit ARD is famous for.

DDJ Training Wellness Day:

Where: DDJ Training, Main Road, Guguletu

About the event: Ready to run for a cause and catch those West Coast vibes? This 15 km coastal road race takes you through the West Coast Nature Reserve with breathtaking ocean views and that unbeatable small-town race energy.

It’s all in support of Movember, raising awareness for men’s health, mental health, and cancer prevention, so whether you’re growing a mo(stache) or bringing your mojo, you’re running for something meaningful.

The Montagu Gravel & Grit Festival:

When: Saturday, 8 Novemb34 2025 

Where: Glen Eden Guest Farm, Montagu, Route 62

About the event: Adventure lovers, this one’s for you! The Montagu Gravel & Grit Festival brings a full weekend of cycling, trail running, hiking, and pure outdoor fun to the Klein Karoo.

It’s a mix of gravel races, from a 55 km fun ride to a 140 km epic. Plus, a 5 km fun run and a 15 km trail for runners and hikers.

Expect sunset hikes, live entertainment, great food, medals, and that unbeatable Montagu vibe.

Kapokbos Trail Run Montagu:

Where: Montagu, Western Cape

About the event: Named after the fragrant Kapokbos shrub that grows along the route, this run takes you through hilly single tracks with jaw-dropping views of the Langeberg Mountains.

Choose from a 5.6 km, 10 km, or 15 km route, all beautifully marked and beginner-friendly, with medals for every finisher.
