The Western Cape Education Department has strongly condemned a false bomb threat made at Wynberg Girls' High School.
A threat was flagged at the school on Wednesday morning, resulting in the evacuation of both the high school and Wynberg Girls and Boys junior school.
The South African Police Service (SAPS)'s K9 Unit later cleared the building and declared it safe for re-entry.
The department said no disruptions were caused to final year exams at the school.
Spokesperson for the Western Cape Education Department Bronagh Hammond said had the threat been on an exam day for matrics, it would have had dire consequences.
“We appeal to the public from refraining from making any such threats that are false, and that could have dire consequences in terms of the law.”
