Zimbabwean opposition leader Job Sikhala has been granted bail of R10,000 following his arrest on charges of possession of explosives.
Sikhala appeared before the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Thursday, where he formally applied for bail.
He was arrested last week after police allegedly discovered explosives in his vehicle while he was driving in the capital.
His lawyer, Normal Maluleka, said that Sikhala would comply with all bail conditions.
"He is not the kind of man that can simply disappear without anybody noticing. He also has strong family ties in South Africa and Johannesburg within the court’s jurisdiction.
