Are you one of the many who may have been "caught out" by someone posting a new song or unusual cover version of an old classic on social media, only to find out that it was created by artificial intelligence (AI)?
Many people might think this is essentially "killing" music creation – but art entrepreneur, filmmaker and musician Bouwer Bosch doesn't agree.
"I'm always excited when there's new things on the horizon that's going to keep us on our toes to become better writers, better musicians, better engineers... and music is a business as well, so whether you like the lyrics of a song or not, whether you like party songs, whether you like deep emotional songs – it's all business, it needs to make money."
Bosch says he's excited that AI tools like Suno can now help songwriters make music too.
"There are so many writers out there... that never got the chance to get their lyrics out there... Suno is not going to turn everyone into a musician or a rockstar, but now you have the opportunity to write your loved one a song.
"I don't see it as a weapon, I see it as a tool to become a better musician and a better writer."
