Member of Parliament (MP) Fadiel Adams will take the hot seat before the ad hoc committee investigating allegations of police corruption on Wednesday.

Adams will respond to allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi in 2025 that he mishandled sensitive intelligence.

Wednesday will also see prosecutor Krishna Chetty give testimony about investigations, as well as another public submission.

Chetty was involved in a case involving fellow witness Paul O’Sullivan a few years ago.

Adams, the leader of the National Coloured Congress and its sole MP, will take to the witness stand.

Mkhwanazi had testified that Adams "recklessly" handled the intelligence when he used it to open criminal dockets at different police stations.

Adams has refuted this, claiming the documents were slipped under his office door anonymously and that he reported the matter to the police.

He will be second MP to take the stand after committee member and Democratic Alliance (DA) MP Dianne Kohler Barnard also responded to similar allegations.
