A man found guilty on drug trafficking charges has been sentenced to eight years' imprisonment.
The 41-year-old appeared before the Belville Magistrates Court on Friday.
The convicted drug mule was arrested in December last year through an intelligence sting operation at the Cape Town International Airport, which uncovered 1.9 kilograms of cocaine in three retractable suitcase handles.
Warrant officer Zinzi Hani said, "Samoa was sentenced to eight years imprisonment for dealing in drugs in terms of the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act. Three years of his sentence were suspended for a period of five years."
