There was more good news for South Africa's new vehicle sales market in November, with domestic sales still on the up.

The NAAMSA figures for November 2025 show an increase of 12,5% year-on-year.

54,896 units were sold - 6,113 units more than the 48,783 recorded in November 2024.

The new passenger car market recorded 39,158 units, an increase of 11% (3,871 units) compared to 35,287 units sold in November last year.

And while there was a 1.9% dip after the record-breaking month of October, this is the 14th straight month that South Africa's shown year-on-year growth, remarks Melinda Ferguson.

"November is actually also the fifth straight month that we've breached the 50,000 unit mark."

Old favourite Toyota remains South Africa' top brand, with over 13,500 vehicles sold in November.

Suzuki took second spot at less than half that number, with Volkswagen following very closely in third place.

"I think VW must be kicking themselves because they were just behind Suzuki, selling 6,044 units compared to Suzuki's 6,385."

The most popular models in the country were the Toyota Hilux, followed by the VW Polo and the Suzuki Swift.
