WEATHER: Warm skies, hail expected in Johannesburg, Pretoria on Wednesday

Wednesday will be warm across Gauteng, with some pockets of turbulence by afternoon, according to AccuWeather.
In Johannesburg, the forecast calls for a high around 27 °C, dipping to around 14 °C overnight. The day will begin partly sunny, but forecasters warn of a considerable chance — roughly 80% — of a drenching thunderstorm in the afternoon, accompanied by large hail, strong winds and potential flooding.
Winds from the north are expected at around 13 km/h with gusts occasionally stronger.
The forecast for Pretoria is similar. Temperatures are likely to hit about 31 °C during the day and fall to about 17 °C overnight. Skies will start sunny and turn partly cloudy through the day.
There is a 55% chance of rain, with thunderstorms possible in some areas — especially later in the day under gusty, westerly winds.
