Former National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) head, Advocate Menzi Simelane, has commenced his interview in a bid to return to the post of NPA Head.

Simelane, who is the last of six candidates to be interviewed by the panel, began by giving a background on how he previously transitioned from the Justice Department to the NPA.

Simelane was previously appointed to the position by former President Jacob Zuma. However, the appointment was later ruled irregular by the Constitutional Court in 2012.

Before taking up the position at the NPA, Simelane served as the Director-General at the Justice Department. During his interview, he told the panel about his background and his career transition into the NPA.
