Soweto mob justice: Teenager killed, three hospitalised in Diepkloof attack

Police are investigating a case of murder and three counts of attempted murder after an alleged mob justice attack in Diepkloof, Soweto.

It is understood that a group of young men was targeted by the community in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Gauteng Police arrived on the scene to find four males, stripped naked, with visible injuries.

Police Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhlwi confirmed that a 19-year-old was declared dead on the scene. She said three others are being treated for their injuries in the hospital.

"The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this stage, and police will be investigating a case of murder and three counts of attempted murder. The community is urged to allow the police to do their work."
