One dead in multi-vehicle crash on the M4 in Durban

One person has been confirmed dead following a multi-vehicle crash involving a truck, a bakkie and a taxi on the M4 in Durban.

Emergency services and law enforcement officers are on the scene, investigating the cause of the crash.

Two other people were critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital, while several others are being assessed by paramedics.

Meanwhile, another accident has been reported at the Sibaya circle, involving two vehicles.

Marshall Security’s Andries Mathios said that paramedics are currently attending to that scene.

"Those of you who are making provisions to travel to the north of Durban, Umhlanga, Ballito, take an alternative route via the N2. If you're coming south towards Durban, please avoid the area or delay your travel as much as possible."
