Mayor Xaba confirmed that a multi-disciplinary technical team has been appointed to investigate the collapse, with preliminary results expected next week.

He visited the site yesterday alongside Public Works Minister Dean Macpherson, offering condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.

"It is a shocking situation that we are seeing here," Mayor Xaba stated. "The site has been handed over to the rescue teams to do their work. As soon as they are done, the multi-disciplinary team will then move in and do their own investigations."
