One person has been confirmed dead following a multi-vehicle crash involving a truck, a bakkie, and a taxi on the M4 in Durban.
Emergency services and law enforcement officers are currently on the scene, investigating the cause of the crash.
Two other people were critically injured and have been rushed to a nearby hospital, while paramedics are assessing several other victims.
Meanwhile, a separate accident has been reported nearby, involving two vehicles at the Sibaya Circle.
Marshall Security's Andries Mathios says paramedics are currently attending to that scene, and he has issued a strong travel warning:
"And for those of you who are making provisions to travel to the north of Durban, Umhlanga, Ballito, take an alternative route via the N2. If you're coming south towards Durban, please avoid the area or delay your travel as much as possible."
