The South African Council of churches in Gauteng said that the recent Saulsville shebeen mass shooting is one of the most devastating acts of violence to have occurred in Tshwane in recent times.
The council held a memorial service for the victims at the Atteridgeville community hall in Pretoria on Sunday.
Last week, 12 were killed when three gunmen opened fire at the illegal shebeen.
Among the victims were minors aged three, 12, and 16.
Witnesses said that the gunmen entered the tavern and started firing randomly at patrons.
Police launched a manhunt for the three suspects, but no arrests have been made so far.
