The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning at a street party hosted by a popular Amapiano artist.

Reports indicate that a group of alleged gangsters began terrorising partygoers. In a dramatic escalation, residents retaliated against the group, resulting in an attack that left one person dead.

Community Leader Thabo Ngayo has publicly stated that party hosts must take full responsibility for the safety of attendees, emphasising the danger such uncontrolled events pose to the neighbourhood.

"We will never allow it to happen because it’s putting our lives in danger. The lives [of] our security cluster becomes threatened because these boys are unruly."
