Two men were arrested for possessing Mozambican passports that were fraudulently stamped.

The Border Management Authority (BMA) said the suspects were intercepted at the Kosi Bay Border Post in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Thursday.

BMA spokesperson Mmemme Mogotsi said the pair attempted to bribe officials with more than R34,000 to evade arrest.

“When the bribery attempt failed, the suspects resisted arrest and as a result, BMA officials acted decisively, and both suspects were subsequently arrested and charged with fraud, resisting arrest and bribery.”
